An ounce of pot with that fudge bar, please.

To beat the the competition, a pair of pot dealers decided they were going to distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack by promising to deliver their merchandise discreetly - by hiding in plain sight. In a bold act of deception, a pair of dope pushers tried to execute a pot distribution plan that included selling marijuana out of an Ice Cream Truck.

The criminal team of Jonathan Trahan, 20 yrs old and Hunter Pitre, 19 yrs old were hauled in by deputies of Lafourche Parish Sheriff – Thibodaux LA after concerned citizens complained of narcotic sales being conducted out of an Ice Cream Truck. The initial pat down of Trahan yielded approximately 9 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. The pat down of Pitre yielded a small amount of marijuana in his socks. He was charged with possession of marijuana.

This is an interesting study in the art of up-selling. In this case, it appears the merchandise will have to be purchased with a drumstick or a fudge bar to pull off the deception. This is reminiscent of a professional shoe salesman up-selling you an extra pair of socks, shoe laces and a shoe shine kit with your new pair of shoes. Because the buyer is a captive market, they can actually deliver the pot inside a gallon of ice cream to try to evade the trained noses of K-9's. That's what they should have done. Instead, they stuffed their merchandise in their socks. Well, obviously, their selling skills leave much to be desired. We can only hope they have an attorney who can sell better, because he or she will have to sell the judge on their innocence.
